Why do parents provide alcohol to minors? Common excuses...
At least I know they’ll be safe
Driving while drunk is not the only danger to teen’s when they drink. Underage drinking can prohibit brain development and stop their emotional growth. Other affects

I never agreed with the drinking age being 21
You don’t have to agree with the law. You do have to follow it. A person who hosts an underage drinking party can be charged with separate criminal charges for EACH and EVERY minor who consumes alcohol. For more on the legal consequences, read about the Parents Who Host campaign.

If I let them drink at home, they won’t want to drink elsewhere.
Teens do a lot of things at home – play video games, talk on the phone, watch TV. They still do these activities when they get together with their friends. Drinking at home will not stop them from drinking with friends. In fact, local research shows that students whose parents let them drink at home are more likely to drink without their knowledge, or behind their backs, than students who report a “no alcohol” policy at home.
