"Survivor Sugar Creek" sponsored by Leadership Crawford
The
The "Gross Food Challenge" was one of the favorites of the four survivor challenges.
“Survivor Sugar Creek” was the theme for a one-day leadership training, sponsored by Leadership Crawford and held at Sugar Creek Bible Camp April 29th

Nearly 60 middle-school age students from Wauzeka, Seneca, North Crawford, Bluff View, St. John’s, and the Home School Association attended the event.

Shawn Redman, one of the organizers for the event, said the purpose of the day was to “promote healthy values and leadership skills in a ‘hands on’ setting.”

The day included several guest speakers. Joe Delagrave of Prairie du Chien spoke about obstacles and perseverance. Sean Forde, a Nike representative from Chicago, spoke about goal setting and life choices. Deb Mara of Prairie du Chien spoke on Public Speaking.

The day also included four “survivor” challenges that promoted interaction and team building.

The event was organized by participants of Leadership Crawford, a nine-month leadership seminar in community involvement and leadership. The seminar kicked off in the fall of 2005 with a weekend retreat, where participants divided into four teams to develop an action plan. Survivor Sugar Creek was an action plan of one of the groups. In addition to Redman, organizers included Wendy Vanderbilt, Cindy Noel, Rich Stutzki, Deb Mara, Ed Block, and Abbi Johnson.
