PALS summer camp held in three Crawford County communities
PALS, or People Actively Linked with Students, teamed up with the Crawford Abuse Resistance Effort (C.A.R.E.) to offer week-long summer leadership programs in Prairie du Chien, Seneca, and Wauzeka.

A total of 120 students, grades 2-5, participated in one of the three programs.

The five-day program focused on citizenship and character development, and involved a number of community service projects. One of the students’ favorite projects was making cards and delivering them to the nursing home residents.

In addition to community service, students participated in activities and lessons that emphasized the five promices; Caring Adults, Safe Places, Healthy Start, Marketable Skills, and Opportunities to Serve.

PALS summer program was funded by the Crawford County Mentoring Program, C.A.R.E., and Prairie du Chien Memorial Hospital, with partial funding from a state Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant.
