Methamphetamine Town Hall Meetings held in three towns
Crawford County residents in three different communities gathered to learn more about methamphetamine, the effects the drug has on its community, and what they can do about it. Town Hall Meetings on Methamphetamine were held in Wauzeka, Seneca, and North Crawford communities the first two weeks of November. A total of 98 people attended between the three meetings. More than 200 attend Memorial Ceremony
Approximately 200 people attended a Memorial Ceremony in recognition of the five year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The ceremony was held at the National Guard Armory, with WPRE/WQPC News Manager Norb Aschom as the Emcee. Read full article


C.A.R.E. recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving
Crawford Abuse Resistance Effort (C.A.R.E.) was recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) with their “Difference Maker Award” on July 18th at their annual banquet in Milwaukee. The award was presented to C.A.R.E. by MADD’s National President Glynn Birch. C.A.R.E. was nominated by Prairie du Chien Police Chief Mike King for their efforts to reduce underage drinking, limit youth access to alcohol, and educate the community. Read full article.

Community leaders and concerned citizens came together on March 28th to address underage drinking in Crawford County at a town hall meeting at Prairie du Chien City Hall. "Town Hall Meeting: The Impact of Underage Drinking in Our Area," was one of 21 in Wisconsin and 1200 across the nation. The goals of the event were to educate citizens on the local impact of underage drinking and engage them in the solution. Read more


Teach-In held as part of Alcohol Awareness Month
C.A.R.E. held a “Reach Out Now Teach-In” for fifth grade students at St. Gabriel's, Bluff View, Seneca and ECHOES Schools on April 3.
"Children and teens in Crawford County need to know how to reject underage drinking and the harmful effects on their health, today and tomorrow," said Rick Peterson, C.A.R.E. Director, on why the teach-ins were important. Read full article

Climbing rock walls, fighting against corporate tobacco companies, standing up for their beliefs, serving their community, expanding their communication skills, meeting new people… students from Crawford County do all of this and more. Family Visiting Program
Family Visitors are available for parentings wishing to talk to antoehr adult, to learn more about parenting issues, and to learn about area resrouces. This taylor-fit parenting education can take place in the family's h ome or at the Family Resource Center.
Community Calendar
Crawford County’s Promise features a community calendar that allows youth organizations, program directors, and volunteers to submit community events for public view. The calendar lists community celebrations, summer festivals, parades, immunization clinics, parenting classes, youth programs, and more!
